The 72-Hour Films

 


The Brick Theater, Inc. presents The 72-Hour Films!  Film a short work (10 minutes or less) in 3 days and have it screened on a giant screen on May 31st!  Be part of The Brick’s huge summer festival, The Film Festival: A Theater Festival!  (www.bricktheater.com/filmfestival)


Filmmakers and non-filmmakers alike are invited to form a film crew, prepare a film from scratch, write it, shoot it, score it, edit it and deliver it within 72-hours.  All qualifying films will be screened on Saturday, May 31st during the opening weekend of The Film Festival: A Theater Festival at The Brick.


UPDATED:

There are two 72-hour periods during which you may participate:


1st GROUP: May 22 at 7pm to May 25 at 7pm

(the mandatory meeting for this group is May 21st at 9pm at The Brick)


2nd GROUP: May 27 at 7pm to May 30 at 7pm

(the mandatory meeting for this group is May 27th at 7pm at The Brick)


Details:


All participants must arrive at The Brick (www.bricktheater.com/Directions) at 9pm on May 21st or at 7pm on May 27th.  Please have all elements of your film crew assembled beforehand.  If you are not able to assemble all necessary components (actors, editors, equipment) you may contact The Brick by May 19th at noon and our staff will help find collaborators.  Please contact The Brick staff at info@bricktheater.com


A sign-in sheet will be made available at these meetings and instructions given to all participating groups.  There will be minor mandatory elements which MUST BE INCLUDED in your film.  These elements will only be disclosed at the meeting.  One of these elements may require filming something at the theater, so BRING YOUR CAMERA!


All films for the 1st Group must be turned in to The Brick staff at 7pm on May 25th at The Brick.  All films for the 2nd Group must be turned in to The Brick staff on May 30th at The Brick by 7pm.  For the latter group, please stick around for the opening night Free Preview Cabaret and Opening Night Gala to follow!
