CLOWN SUBWAY PARADE, FREE-FOR-ALL PIE FIGHT and OPENING NIGHT CABARET - Free
This opening day event begins at the steps of Union Square Park (opposite Fresh Fields and Virgin Megastore) at 5pm.  Clowns and audience members alike are invited to gather, in costume or out at this location.  Shortly after 5pm, all will be asked to descend to the L Train platform of the Union Square subway.  Stuffing the unsuspecting rush hour L train with clowns and clowns enthusiasts, we will take the L Train to the Bedford stop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (less than a 15 minute ride).  At Bedford, groups will be encouraged to march with musicians and jugglers and other fanfare to The Brick Theater.  Once at the theater, a giant free-for-all pie fight will be held within the completely tarped-off theater itself.  At 8pm the theater will be cleaned in preparation for the 9:30pm Opening Night Cabaret.  During this interval, and after the Cabaret, pie-fighters are encouraged to congregate at The Lazy Catfish (around the corner from the theater) for specially arranged Happy Hour priced drinks and 15% off foods.
