Check out the art\, have some drinks and snacks and meet the artist! \n*** \n混沌: Chaos and Delight explores\, in candy colored and fuzzy tufted works\, the joy in relinquishing boundaries and re-mixing opposing forces: heaven and earth\, ancient and modern\, American and Chinese\, craft and fine art. \nIn Chinese mythology\, at the beginning of time there was only 混沌 (hùn dùn)\, a roiling primordial chaos encapsulated in an egg. When the egg was split\, great pains were taken to keep light and heavy\, sky and earth separated. As a mixed race Taiwanese/Chinese and white American\, my two halves are often likewise separated; sometimes by external forces and sometimes by my own anxieties from living in a deeply racialized country. Her reinterpretations of traditional Chinese craftsmanship seek to honor heritage through an unapologetically American lens.
