SUMMARY:ARL: Entomon
DESCRIPTION:Brick Aux presents\nARL: Volume XIV\nEntomon by Olivia Ray\nDecember 10\, 2023\nat Brick Aux – 628 Metropolitan Ave\n5pm\nFREE but donations graciously accepted\nPlease fill out this google form if you are interested in attending. \n*** \nA young girl has a crippling fear of bugs; naturally\, to cure her\, she is sent on a long camping trip in the wood by her mother. Entomon is a dark comedy that you shouldn’t miss! \nARL is open to all theater makers and is a great way to find a fun theater community of cool theater people reading cool theater things! \n*** \n \n\n\nARL is a program at Brick Aux dedicated to providing a space for emerging artists to read plays\, musicals\, essays and other ‘cool theater things’ with other emerging artists. The primary goal of ARL is for members to be able to build a reservoir of like-minded theater makers that they can turn to and rely on for their theatrical endeavors. The group will meet several times a month and read aloud different works and then discuss\, workshop\, act\, and/or direct various scenes from the text. This will give the directors a chance to flex their directing muscles\, the actors a space to act\, designers a chance to discover and everyone a chance to make new connections and have a good time. ARL is catered towards new and emerging artists in theater. In order to curate an intimate space\, each session will be limited to between 10 and 20 and will meet for between 2 and 3 hours depending on the length of the piece being read. \nCreating theater is intrinsically tied to creating a community of artists. One of the hardest aspects of finding and making work in NYC is finding amazing people that you want to work with in the first place. Let the Aux Reading League be that place! \n\nPlease feel free to reach out to Harrison\, the program’s curator at harrison.brickaux@gmail.com with any questions. \nart by Mark Toneff \n\n*** \n \nThe Brick is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. We rely on the generosity of our patrons. Consider giving a tax-deductible donation today to help make The Brick a sustainable hub of experimental performance for many years to come. Donate Here or Join Our Patreon \nMask Policy: The Brick strongly encourages but does not require masks for audience members. We are in ongoing conversation with our artists and audiences as we continue to adapt our covid policies and it is subject to change at any time. Thank you. \nA Note on Accessibility: The Brick has trigger warnings posted in the space for each show for you to check if you so choose.
