SUMMARY:Crossing the Water
DESCRIPTION:The Brick presents\nCrossing the Water\nby Rawya El Chab\nDecember 5-21*\, 2025\nat The Brick Theater — 579 Metropolitan Ave\nTickets $25-50\nRunning time: 70 minutes \n\nDirector & Dramaturg: Jesse Freedman\nPlaywright\, Producer & Storyteller: Rawya El Chab\nDramaturg: Mona Merhi\nSound & Music Composition: Omar Dewachi\nProjection\, Set & Object Design: Ettie Pin\nLighting Design: Jacqueline Scaletta\nCostume & Wearables Design: Katie Friedman\nProduction Director / Theater Manager: Tommy Lynch\nStage Manager: Kyle Quick\nGraphic Design: Carine Zahabi \nCrossing the Water is a chronicle of life under military occupation\, told through a powerful blend of live storytelling\, shadow play\, projections\, and puppetry. This solo performance interlaces personal memory with historical events\, following the journey of a small family and their comrades as they flee the Israeli invasion of Beirut in 1982. At once intimate and political\, this autobiography reflects on survival\, resistance\, and the weight of memory. Crossing the Water is the second installment in a trilogy exploring the decline of the Lebanese left at the end of the twentieth century. \nFind them: @allisvain; @omar_dewachi; @yeti_ettie; @jacqueline.scaletta; @rawyaelchab \n*NOTE: The performance on Friday\, December 19th will be a “mask-required performance\,” meaning all patrons will be required to wear a mask in the house unless actively eating or drinking. The Brick will have masks available at the box office when you check in. \n\n \nThe Brick is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. We rely on the generosity of our patrons.
