Dark Rooms supercharge sexual encounters through anonymity\, the recalibration of our senses\, and the thrill of the unknown. Stepping into a Dark Room requires a leap of faith that can lead to unexpected connections\, heightened experiences\, and discoveries about ourselves that couldn’t happen in the bright light of daily life. In the dark\, conventional social norms are dropped and stereotypes fall by the wayside. We enter as individuals\, but collectively build queer power through self-discovery and -liberation. We each carry these new powers with us as we walk out of the Dark Room and back into lives of necessary resistance against heteropatriarchy. Experienced on an individual basis by appointment only\, the heightened sensorial experience of anonymous Dark Room encounters and their capacity to engender unexpected and liberatory revelations serves as a framework for a new way of experiencing sound and performance. \n\ncw: DARKROOM is experienced blindfolded. (Blindfolds are provided.) DARKROOM requires sitting in a chair for 25 minutes. A facilitator will be on site to help attendees before and after the performance\, and accessibility accommodations will be made to the extent possible when requested in advance.\nImage created by Bill Solomon \nFollow them: @bentduonyc \n*** \n \nThe Brick is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
