We are working with ZANNI Productions to make it all possible.*** \nThe Brick Presents \nDeepali Gupta\nBrendan Drake\nHannah Kallenbach \nwith Host Peter Mills Weiss \nFree June 8 @ 8pm ET via The Brick YouTube Channel \n*** \nJoin us for a gorgeous array of storytelling\, wild creation and physical experimentation\, delivered to you live from multiple perspectives within The Brick Theater. Host Peter Mills Weiss will guide us through the worlds of brilliant artistic beings Deepali Gupta (song)\, Brendan Drake (dance) and Hannah Kallenbach (performance art). The mess is real\, the hearts are live\, the juice is gonna flow. \n*** \nPeter Mills Weiss\n \n***\n \nDeepali Gupta is a performance artist living and working. Her work circulates ideas surrounding madness and divinity as they relate to the colonized and feminized body. Her life is durational but can’t be termed endurance art. She is the daughter of Kashmiri and Bengali immigrants\, and writes in (dis)order to upheave and unravel both lived and inherited traumas. She makes work in independent realms as well as within spheres of collaboration. \nHer work has been presented by The Public Theater\, Lincoln Center Theater\, Ars Nova\, The Bushwick Starr\, Target Margin Theater\, and The Poetry Project. She has collaborated with theater and media companies such as Piehole\, New Saloon\, and Tender Claws on acclaimed and award-winning projects. She is a member of the New Georges Jam\, as well as The Poetry Project’s Board of Directors. Current projects include I Love You Stranger (diagnosing the mirror)\, in development with Ars Nova; and United States v. Gupta\, commissioned by JACK and in development with support from the Brooklyn Arts Council\, New York State Council on the Arts\, and the NYC Women’s Fund for Media\, Music\, and Theatre. He was a 2017-2018 Fresh Tracks Artist at New York Live Arts\, a 2015 CUNY Dance Initiative resident artist through Baruch College and the recipient of a 2020 Brooklyn Arts Council Grant. His work has been presented at Danspace Project (DraftWork)\, The Brick\, HERE\, La MaMa\, New York Live Arts\, Chez Bushwick (Exponential Festival 2020)\, Triskelion Arts\, Gowanus Loft\, Wild Project\, Industry City Distillery\, Joe’s Pub\, Museum for the Moving Image\, Dixon Place\, The Dance Complex (Boston) and Brooklyn Studios for Dance where he was a 2017 Artist/Faculty in Residence. In addition to his work for the stage\, Brendan choreographed the fall 2014 “Equality = Love” campaign for Adidas Originals/Pharrell Williams. He has also served as movement coordinator on editorial shoots for Vogue\, Porter\, V and Elle Magazines (photographer: Ryan McGinley\, Liz Collins).   Last May\, Brendan co-curated with Dance and Media Artist Kate Ladenheim the digital performance series “19 Acts of COVID-19 Bravery” which was an online exhibition of works\, created in isolation\, responding to the Coronavirus Pandemic. He has had the pleasure of guest teaching at the University of Massachusetts\, Muhlenberg College\, DeSales University\, Gibney\, BKSD\, and Ball State University. He was also named a 2016 “Artist to Watch” in Dance Europe Magazine.  \n***\n \nHannah Kallenbach (she/her) is a Brooklyn-based actor and performance artist whose work takes many forms\, often at once\, ranging from stand-up to durational site-specific installations to short films. She has written and performed 15 original works at venues such as Triskelion Arts\,\nSilent Barn\, 80 WSE Gallery\, The Tank\, The Glove\, The Brick\, Vital Joint\, The Windjammer\, The Footlight and Dixon Place. She has participated in festivals such as The Exponential Festival\, The Prelude Festival\, ?!:New Works\, and SalOn!. Her current artistic interest is personifying automated bathroom appliances.
