SUMMARY:DEVOTION DEVOTION - POSTPONED
DESCRIPTION:This Event Has Been Postponed due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Read our full statement right here. \nDEVOTION DEVOTION is an experimental performance by dance artist Lydia Mokdessi and musician Jason Bartell. \nThe duo have developed shared practices of sonic and physical droning\, navigating a series of structural trap doors that invite dissonance and distortion in order to de-fetishize the artistic “hand.” \nDeconstructed memories and cinematic debris are conjured and pressurized into opulent loops and choreography that trouble the relationship of the body to identity\, spectatorship\, objectification\, service\, submission\, and control\, attempting to obstruct intentional decisions-making\, erase authorship\, and locate a shared intuition. \nFEATURING: \nJason Bartell\, creator and performer \nSyd Island\, vocalist \nLydia Mokdessi\, creator and performer \n***Special guest artists TBA \nPhoto credit – Danny Young \nThe Brick – 579 Metropolitan Avenue\nMarch 26-29 @ 8pm\nand\nMarch 28 @ 2pm \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n  \n
