The Brick presents

FLAMBOYAN is a performance art piece and immersive installation that uses improvisation and ritual to explore Puerto Rican identity, familial trauma, and “womanhood”. This story is woven through various self-love rituals with Puerto Rican traditions of brujeria, santeria and a connection to spirits. Using the body as tool, instrument, and temple, the artist engages the audience with a confrontation of pain in growth, forgiveness, and hate. Who do we honor in our lives? Who do we condemn? And, most importantly, what do we choose to do for who?
