SUMMARY:Homing and Light Potion
DESCRIPTION:The Brick presents\nHoming and Light Potion\nby Heather Rose Piper and Jacob Graham\nOctober 3 + 4\, 2025\nat The Brick Theater — 579 Metropolitan Ave\nTickets $25-50\nRunning time: 1 hour \n\nHoming\nHeather Rose Piper (Writer\, Director\, Designer)\nAmelia Adams (Lead Puppeteer)\nPreston Wollner (Puppeteer)\nJarid Blue (Digital Projectionist)\nJohnny Alberico (Animation and Motion Graphics)\nMichael Gardner (Light Puppeteer)\nAshur Rayis (Music)\nRowan Magee (Dramaturge)\nSpecial Thanks to The Jim Henson Foundation\nAnd The Object Movement Residency \nLight Potion\nJacob Graham (Director\, writer\, music)\nAvemarie Magdalena (starring\, writer)\nJacob Graham and Stoph Scheer (Puppets)\n \nCher Ami was a heroic carrier pigeon for the US Army Corps in France during World War I who flew over 20 miles in under half an hour delivering a message to allied troops detailing the location of almost 200 wayward soldiers. Homing\, created by the interdisciplinary artists Heather Rose Piper\, is a multimedia puppetry play employing a poetic retelling of this epic flight\, and explores the relationship between home and displacement\, intuition\, resiliency\, and how faith and hope shape the human experience. \nLight Potion\, a dreamy short film created by the artist Jacob Graham in conjunction with Avemarie Magdalena depicts a reclusive priestess’s carefully crafted creative process. Each element of this short film is imbued with an ancient magic emblematic of the artist’s work and transports the audience into an ethereal realm through light and sound. \n\n \nThe Brick is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. We rely on the generosity of our patrons. Consider giving a tax-deductible donation today to help make The Brick a sustainable hub of experimental performance for many years to come. Donate here or join our Patreon. \nA Note on Health and Safety: If you are feeling ill or have recently been exposed to a virus or other contagion such as COVID-19\, please stay at home out of respect for the performers and the other patrons. Our front door is ADA compliant. There is a small ramp with an ADA compliant grade that leads up to the box office window and further on to the house. We are happy to reserve accessible seats for folks who need them.
