The Brick Presents
I’m Going To Marry Your Dad and Miss Lady Salad Celebrate Pride!

June 24 at 8pm

Pride month is here, henny! Noted online trolls I’m Going to Marry Your Dad and Shawn Escarciga (Miss Lady Salad) share a stage IRL for a double feature. Because you can’t slay mamaw boots the house down love wins without deep existential crises, a little satire, and the welcoming embrace of cringe.

Have you ever had questions? Questions so deep you wonder: honey, what is this? We have too. Celebrate #PRIDE with your favorite internet goblins I’m Going to Marry Your Dad and Shawn Escarciga (Miss Lady Salad) as they slay the boots down hunty work on all that is holy. From corporate creatives to performance art gurus, these two F slurs share their chaos together for a split bill kinda situation that will have you shaking in your Goldman Sachs branded baseball caps, henny. Stocks may rise and stocks may fall, but being a corporate gay with dreams never dies.

Performance artist/satirist I’m Going To Marry Your Dad presents an intimate journey to finding the essence from within–which is inevitably cringe. Using a combination of live and video performance, I’m Going To Marry Your Dad takes you through Margaret Thatcher’s interpretation of Sesame Street in hopes to answer the big question: is there any hope for the individual?
Featuring video by Eric Vitale.

Shawn Escarciga (Miss Lady Salad)–performance artist and noted mentally ill homosexual–has dreams. Join them as they explore what happens when your bedroom becomes a place of deep introspection, and then that introspection becomes depression, and then that depression becomes a performance, and then that performance is at The Brick. Drawing from their background in dance, pseudo-comedy, trolling online, making fun of JVN, and speculating on what working class artists might be able to do if we weren’t working all the fucking time, Shawn brings these dreams… to you.

In consideration for the health and safety or our staff members, artists, and audiences, The Brick remains committed to maintaining vaccination requirements and mask mandates for our in-person presentations for the foreseeable future.
