SUMMARY:Improv for Theater Artists (And Other Artists too\, I guess) - 4 Week Course!
DESCRIPTION:The Brick presents\nImprov for Theater Artists (And Other Artists too\, I guess)\nwith Tim Platt\n4 Sessions October 8\, 15\, 22\, and 29\n12-3pm\nat Brick Aux – 628 Metropolitan Ave\n$45 per session $150 for all 4 \n***When class attendees sign up\, there will be only one date available on the ticketing platform. Just select this date and then it will allow you to choose whether you want to attend 1\, 2\, 3\, or 4 classes. Once you check out\, staff at The Brick will reach out to confirm which dates you will be attending. This method will help class attendees avoid additional fees*** \nImprovisation has been and continues to be one the most creatively nourishing and generative practices of my life. And yet\, to be totally honest\, one of the biggest bummers of the practice is how siloed improvisation is from those who have creative goals outside of “being good at improv.” This four session class is an opportunity for theater makers\, actors\, writers\, artists\, and comedians to develop improvisation technique in a way that aligns with their current creative goals and projects. Along with building comfort and familiarity with improvisation as a craft and form\, we will also experiment with how improvisation can directly integrate with your individual discipline and practice.  Come ready to play\, listen\, share\, and develop. \n\n \nTim Platt is a comedian\, musician\, writer\, and actor in Brooklyn\, NY who has been seen on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert\, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon\, and Masterclass with Steve Martin. His stand up is a mix of characters\, jokes\, puppetry\, and music. In 2019 he was selected as one of Comedy Central’s Up Next Variety Comedians at Clusterfest as well a Kickstarter 2019 Creator-In-Residence. He is a castmember of the award winning Actual Play podcast Rude Tales of Magic as well as the host of the comedy interview podcast The Hampton High Archives. His writing and art has been featured on Point In Case\, Gawker\, and Bedford+Bowery. He’s done a bunch of other stuff that he’s really proud of but would never be mentioned in something like this. \nphoto by Mindy Tucker \n\n\n*** \n \nThe Brick is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
