For the first time ever\, every issue will be displayed at the Brick Aux Gallery in Brooklyn to be shared with the public. \nLong before Mailchimp and Substack\, the JMN began publishing in 2002 out of a high school computer lab when Mills was 17\, and has been delivered weekly ever since. Editor-in-chief Jennifer Mills\, 38\, makes no effort to glamorize life’s small defeats and victories. Mills breaks news on everything from getting a new crockpot\, to the time her chapstick fell out of a window\, and the banner headline day she discovered an extra closet in her NYC apartment. \nThe JMN has not changed in form or focus since its first issue. Every week it is shared with a growing subscriber list who receive it the old fashioned way: as a PDF of a Word doc sent directly from Mills’ email. Don’t Tell Me! Mills received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2011 where she taught in the departments of Performance and Contemporary Practices. She went on to work for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Radiotopia’s Everything is Alive\, an award-winning interview podcast with inanimate objects. \nMills is a nutrition school drop out\, a proud member of the YMCA and her work has been exhibited widely at places such as MCA in Chicago\, Gallery Kollaborativ Berlin\, and Invisible Dog Art Center\, NY. She is the editor-in-chief of the non-award-winning weekly publication the Jennifer Mills News.
