SUMMARY:?!: New Works 2024 – Night 15
DESCRIPTION:The Brick presents\n?!: New Works 2024 – Night 15\nfeaturing Rawya El Chab\, Hillary Gao\, Shan Fahey\, Annie White & Johnny Butler\nApril 25\, 2024\n8pm \nThe spiritual successor to The Exponential Festival\, ?!:New Works features a veritable slew of experiment(al)(ing) artists from a variety of disciplines presenting brand new work. Working it out. With each other. With you. \n \nThe Union by Rawya El Chab \nApril 24 & 25 \nThe Union is an interactive performance inspired from “A Simple Sabotage Field Manual.” The document\, recently declassified by the CIA\, was used during the second world war to provide US sympathizers\, in the heart of Nazi Germany\, with the tools to sabotage the Nazi war machine without getting caught. By going over these few pages\, it is hard not to come to the realization that we have witnessed these methods in action in our own grassroots organizations.   \nThe Union simulates a general assembly\, and invites the audience/workers to take a collective decision and work together against the management. But “Union” is easier said than done! \nMixing Buffooneries\, whimsical characters\, and songs in a game show atmosphere\, The Union wants us to catch the Saboteur within.  \nFeaturing: Sophia Moussa & Elsa Saadeh \nFind them: @rawya-elchab \n \n9 Pigeons by Hillary Gao – April 12 & 25 \nOn the stage\, in a line stands 9 pigeons. From left to right their names are: 9\, 7\, 5\, 3\, 1\, 2\, 4\, 6\, and 8. They think they are flying south to Cancun for vacation. \nPerformers: \n\n\nPerformers: Sharon Sakai\, Celine Abdallah\, Gus Mahoney\, Miranda Kang\, Allison Brooks\, Rita Liu\, Nicholas Bethencourt\, Lizzy Liu\, Mary Ann Odete\n\n\n\n\nCo-Director: Josephine Chiang (@josephineyuting)\nMovement Consultant: Celine Abdallah \nPoster designed by Lucy Chi (@fruitpasta_) \nCw: mentions of violence \nFind them: @hillarywgao \n \nBlanch VS. Hamlet by Shan Fahey \nApril 21 & 25 \nShan Fahey (a Clown) plays both Blanche Dubois (A Streetcar named Desire) and Hamlet (Hamlet) in a comedic duel of the century.  \nPerformed by Shan Fahey \nWritten & Adapted by Shan Fahey & Julia Mounsey \nDirected by Julia Mounsey \ncw: nudity\, suicide \nFind them: @shanfahey and @momgrab \n \nThose Eyes\, How Familiar They Seem by Annie White & Johnny Butler – April 13 & 25 \nThe face in the misty lights \nFootsteps that you hear down the hall \nThe laugh that floats on a summer night \nThose eyes\, how familiar they seem \nThat was Laura\, but she’s only a dream \nCreated by Annie White and Johnny Butler \nChoreography by Annie White \nMusic by Johnny Butler \nPhoto by Ed Brookline \nFind them: @__anniewhite__ @johnnybutlermusic \n*** \n \nThe Brick is a 501(c)(3) non-profit.
