Working it out. With each other. With you. \nLINEUP \n\nParrhesia – Reolutionary Acts (Section 4)\nby Marija Krtolica \nParrhesia – a new dance-theatre work takes as its point of departure Michel Foucault’s lectures The Courage of Truth (1983/84) and the concept of parrhesia – saying\, expressing everything\, and telling truth to power. The work will engage the relationship between: 1) silent action and speech 2) deliberate creation of spectacle (representation)\, and the unconscious (repressed) non-verbal and verbal discourse. The section four – revolutionary acts\, inspired by the historical documents — images\, slogans\, manifestoes from the Paris Commune\, Spartacist Uprising\, Chinese Cultural Revolution\, Black Panthers & Malcolm X\, and 1968 in U.S. and Europe; evokes the resistance to power\, heroic acts\, and desire to change the status quo. There are two textual sources for this section: The Communist Hypothesis by Alain Badiou\, and a poem by Bertholt Brecht – “What has Happened?”. \nBy Marija Krtolica in collaboration with Jason Ciaccio (live music)\, Julie Fotheringham & Despina Sophia Stamos (movement) \nPerformed by: Julie Fotheringham and Despina Sophia Stamos;\nLive music and reading: Jason Ciaccio\nChoreography in collaboration with participating artists: Marija Krtolica\nTextual excerpts from Alain Badiou and Bertolt Brecht\nPhoto Credit: Marija Krtolica \nFind them: marijakrtolica.com \n\nIf so\, was it good?\nby Sofia Engelman\, Lindsey Jennings\, Delaney McDonough\, and Em Papineau \nIf so\, was it good?\, a new dance work by long time friends and new time collaborators Sofia Engelman\, Lindsey Jennings\, Delaney McDonough\, and Em Papineau\, explores truth telling\, lying\, conspiracy\, and fake news to grapple with personal\, political\, and cultural identity and ideology in 2023.
