We will be enforcing this policy for all upcoming performances\, and ask that all audience members\, regardless of vaccination status\, remain masked. All staff and performers will be vaccinated\, performers may not be masked. Audience can provide proof of vaccination with a government issued I.D. along with a COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card or the Excelsior Pass App. We are navigating this day to day just like all of you so please be patient with staff when you attend your next Brick event. Please enjoy! \nby Jessie Winograd \nCreated and performed in collaboration with Ira Joan Macner \n\n***\nRAWYA EL CHAB \n \nLula 19/85 is an experimental multidisciplinary piece exploring political martyrdom in the future. The spectators will witness Lula\, a cyborg broadcasting their last message before their final mission\, meanwhile\, further in the future\, two historians/archeologists decipher the message through audiovisual interpretations. The piece explores the inevitable environmental crises of our planet and raises questions about what remains of our discourse for future generations.   \nRawya El Chab (Writer\, director\, performer) is a Lebanese theater maker based in New York City. Her work falls at the intersection of art and spell making. She emphasizes the development of ludic practices and the democratization of the tools of theater as a means to dismantle modes of oppression and promote social justice. \nLina Younes (Set and Costume designer) is a New York based Palestinian Lebananese visual designer in theater\, film\, animation\, and installations. Lina is an imagineer creating worlds with one eye shut and an index finger as her wand\, and has a great love and a great weakness: soap bubbles. \nHengameh Fallah (Video Designer) is a multidisciplinary artist based in New York City. Hengameh’s works mainly focus on human emotions\, experiences and communications as individuals and in communities. She is currently doing her MFA in Performance and Interactive Media Arts at the City University of New  York.  \nOmar Dewachi (Sound designer and Composer) is an award winning writer\, academic\, and musician living in Brooklyn\, and teaching anthropology at Rutgers University. Trained as an oud player\, Dewachi has been involved in collaborative projects with local and international artists\, and have performed  in the US\, Canada\, Europe and the Middle East. He is the creator of Puppets of Babylon\, an experimental electronic music project that draws on a wide range of styles and traditions of Arabic and western dance music. \n*** \n?!:New Works is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
