SUMMARY:One Night Only: Nick Cassenbaum and Friends
DESCRIPTION:Brick Aux presents\nOne Night Only: Nick Cassenbaum and Friends\nFebruary 11\, 2024\nat Brick Aux – 628 Metropolitan Ave\nDoors – 730pm\nPresentation – 8pm\nDiscussion to Follow\nFree (but donations welcome) \n***Pre-Sale for this event is SOLD OUT! Limited overflow seating will be available at the door.*** \nRSVP Here \nStreet Performer\, Theatre Maker\, Writer and native Londoner Nick Cassenbaum is here for one night only. He will be presenting sections from some of his works\, workshopped through a new lens with NY collaborators Zoë Geltman\, William Sydney\, Sophie Zucker\, and Peter Mills Weiss. After the presentation\, he will lead a discussion. \n \nA little more about Nick: From solo shows\, plays and pantomimes\, Nick strives to make work that is funny\, political\, silly and accessible. That does not allow an audience to sit and relax but has them on the edge of their seat. Work that seeks to build a whole world through storytelling\, collaboration and humour. He makes Jewish work which is simultaneously unforgivingly Jewish and undeniably British. It is work that Jewish audiences can claim as theirs whilst bringing in and making non Jewish people feel welcome and maybe even a bit Jewish. \nFind them: @nickcassenbaum nickcassenbaum.com \nImage Credit: Alex Brenner \n \nThis event is presented in partnership with The Neighborhood: An Urban Center for Jewish Life\, which is working to build a community and cultural center in North/Central Brooklyn. The showing is part of the Peleh Residency\, one of the few specifically family-friendly residencies based in Berkeley and Brooklyn\, supporting artists in pursuit of their craft while continuing to be parents and caregivers. \n*** \n \nThe Brick is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. We rely on the generosity of our patrons. Consider giving a tax-deductible donation today to help make The Brick a sustainable hub of experimental performance for many years to come. Donate Here or Join Our Patreon \nMask Policy: The Brick strongly encourages but does not require masks for audience members. We are in ongoing conversation with our artists and audiences as we continue to adapt our covid policies and it is subject to change at any time. Thank you. \nA Note on Accessibility: The Brick has trigger warnings posted in the space for each show for you to check if you so choose. If you would rather ask questions in advance of being in the space or would like to enter in advance of house opening due to our seating not being assigned\, please reach out to theresa@bricktheater.com.
