RETURN
by Naomi Tanner
February 28 – March 2, 2023
730pm
An exploration of cyclical behavior and the talk-therapy-industrial complex, RETURN is a solo dance theater work that uses original text, music, and choreography to tell the story of a woman breaking the toxic cycles in her life. Along the way she navigates a rollercoaster romantic love, varying mental health challenges, and the everchanging nature of her trans identity. Additionally, using chance operations, the beginning and end points will be decided at random for each performance.
Created and Performed by Naomi Tanner
“There’s certainly a lot of physical and intellectual rigor in the work, but there’s also a playfulness in its presentation that I think the audience will appreciate.” – Naomi Tanner
Naomi Tanner’s RETURN has been developed over the past two years with support of numerous New York arts organizations such as Jonah Bokaer Arts Foundation, Chez Bushwick, New Dance Alliance, and Arts On Site.
