The Exponential Festival and The Brick present: “CASSANDRA”

January 9 - January 11

$25 – $50

The Exponential Festival and The Brick present
CASSANDRA
by Susannah Yugler
at The Brick Theater — 579 Metropolitan Ave
January 9-11, 2025

The cursed Cassandra, a true prophet that no one believes, desperately tries to save what’s left of her home from self-obsessed siblings, a depressive mother and the machinations of the gods. Wavering between 12th century B.C. and 2024 A.D., CASSANDRA reimagines Euripides’ The Trojan Women as a phantasmagoria of comic selfishness and horror.

Using a pre-recorded script and a cast of dancers, dialogue acts only as a score for the movements, gestures, and tableaux vivants on stage, illustrating multiple parallel narratives: of a women-led talent agency, of ancient war, of corporate America, and of the delusions that sustain them.

A Note on Accessibility: The Brick Theater is conveniently located off the Lorimer stop on the L train. That stop has an elevator from the street to the platform. Our theater has a driveway leading up to the door, which means you can access it directly from the street without having to go over a curb. Our front door is ADA compliant. There is a small ramp with an ADA compliant grade that leads up to the box office window and further on to the house. We are happy to reserve accessible seats for folks who need them. If you’d like to do so, or if you would like to ask further questions in advance of being in the space, or if you would like to enter in advance of our house opening (due to our seating not being assigned), please email: cameron@bricktheater.com.
Questions about Content? Posted just to the right of the box office at the Brick box, we have a detailed content warning sheet for each production. You can check this list if you so choose. We also will have clearly posted signs where you check in for any productions that use loud sounds, flashing lights, fog, or similar.
