A duet exploring post-Judson movement and queer performance tropes, two dancers push through cumulative scores into a fractured expressionist nightmare that objectifies gay American consumerism. Inspired by Anh Vo’s “No More Daddy”, Jose Esteban Muñoz’s Disidentifications, Kevin Killian’s Action Kylie, and Ben Miller’s “The Life and Death of Modern Homosexuality”, the performers inhabit and dissolve queer iconography in order to “burn the boarding school down, and in the ashes, with history as our guide, build something for everyone” (Miller).
