Join us at The Brick for a wildly wide-ranging evening\, featuring the sweet tunes of YACKEZ\, the winding and bending tales of cities from Ryan Douglass and the hypnotizing magnetism of Sweaty Eddie. \nBrick Theater\nAugust 18 @ 8:30pm ET\nDoors open at 8pm ET \n***\nPerformers are vaccinated and will not be masked.\nAs we navigate sharing indoor space with friends again\, we ask that vaccinated and non-vaccinated people wear masks inside the space. But please do not attend if you are not feeling well. Feel free to reach out to theresa@bricktheater.com with questions or concerns.\n*** \nThe evening will have three presentations and run for a little over an hour. \n***\n \nYackez is the art pop/multimedia collaboration of Larissa and Jon Velez-Jackson\, aka Twitta and Papi Jon. Formed in 2010\, this married musical duo exists as both a celebration and critique of popular culture\, politics\, and most notably\, itself. For this show\, they will be discussing whether the recent spate of ransomware attacks on corporations and government entities will become its own form of geopolitical warfare\, or maybe they’ll just perform a few fun songs. Only one way to find out! \n***\n \nRyan Douglass is a writer and comedian. \nHe will be presenting the first two volumes of Transit Nodes\, \na performance of a series of emails he sent to Mayor de Blasio in 2020. \n***\n \nSweaty Eddie is a visual artist\, animator and drag performer. \nSweaty Eddie will be presenting you with undeniable entertainments. \nFollow Sweaty Eddie @sweatyeddie.tv
