The Brick Theater proudly invites you to The Brick YouTube Channel for the video premiere of Destructo Snack, USA on Thursday, June 11 at 8pm EST.
Sarah Graalman and Theresa Buchheister created this show in 2011. Sometime in May or June, they saw a show, had some drinks, and then said – WE SHOULD WRITE A SHOW.
So they did.
They did a version in September 2011 at Dixon Place and then took it to the next level in summer 2012 at Incubator Arts Project.
They revamped again for the CSAA Gallery in Silent Barn. Doing it again, that close up… was bonkers.
This video is from Incubator Arts Project. It is incredible to see the space we never thought we would lose, turned inside out… Theresa in the weird prop loft, Sarah slamming every door (yard, office, lobby)… and the audience where the stage usually was, the pillar as a beautiful prop for Sarah, the risers as our home.
Nick Kostner designed the incredible set.
Sarah and Theresa made this in a state of broke that extends across all definitions of the word.
They made this as friends who needed each other and needed to make art.
They made this to yell, get gross, be tender, be ourselves and every version of ourselves possible.
