Marx ha vuelto (Cap. 1)
‘Marx ha Vuelto’ or ‘Marx is Back” is a online miniseries that takes place in contemporary Argentina, suffering under the blows of economic crises. Workers of a printing house are facing suspensions and lay-offs; a group of workers are organizing to fight back as the union officials try to push them aside. We meet Martin, part of the workers’ group, who starts to read the Communist Manifesto and ends up meeting Karl Marx himself. Is he dreaming or is it reality?

Andy Boyd is a playwright based in Brooklyn, New York. Her plays include Three Scenes in the Life of a Trotskyist (The Tank Core Production), Occupy Prescott (Theater in Asylum at Jalopy Theatre, published by NoPassport Press), and The Trade Federation, or, Let’s Explore Globalization Through the Star Wars Prequels (IRT and Otherworld Theatre, published by NoPassport Press). She was the 2018 winner of the Columbia@Roundabout New Play Award for her play Os Confederados. She has been a member of Play Lab at Pipeline Theatre Company, Speakers’ Corner at Gingold Group, and the BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop. She is a member of the theatre band Friend of Friend, whose show Room, Room, Room, in the many Mansions of eternal glory for Thee and for everyone has been performed at University Settlement, The Brick, Joe’s Pub, and HERE Arts Center.
BrickFlix, a periodic screening & performance series was created by Filmmaker/Two Boots owner Phil Hartman in January 2020. It brings together independent filmmakers, live performance, and food to create a vibrant art loving community. It is currently programmed by Toney Brown.
