This collection of paintings shows the relationship between human and nature – showing flora in the settings of the city and nature. Seeing nature in its own habitat and seeing nature manipulated by the human hand.
Growing up in the Midwest, I was always surrounded by nature. Living in Brooklyn during the pandemic, was a hard transition from that. But I started a ritual of walking everyday, and searching for any form of nature I could find. My favorites were always the bodega stand of flowers, or left behind petals from a flower cart. It was the cities own way of nature. This collection of paintings shows the relationship between human and nature – showing flora in the settings of the city and nature. Seeing nature in its own habitat and seeing nature manipulated by the human hand.
Solace Naeymi was born and raised in the Midwest, from Iranian and American parents. She was always surrounded by the nature of the fields and small forests in Kansas and the lush floral motifs of Iranian design and art. She studied Printmaking and Art History at The University of Kansas.
