This show stems from a desire to grasp onto things that make the world feel more intimate. It’s inspired by a time during our once long-distance friendship, in which we would choose a color and share what we captured on camera throughout the day. We photographed moments when that color especially popped as each of our days went by on separate time zones.

It became a new method of shared thoughts and feelings through photography, but felt even more descriptive than words at times. It taught us to focus on things that are beautiful around us – how many colors and shades of these colors exist and how prevalent each one is when you take a moment to notice it all. And how distinct the emotional response of each is. 

When we finally lived in the same city in July 2024 we chose the color green – it was everywhere. To us, the color was reminiscent of the part of the country where we each grew up, specifically in the summertime. We saw the color green in the same way in some instances, but we also saw it differently. We became interested in how others saw the color, and how it made them feel. 

greengreengreen brings together artists of various mediums, opening up the conversation on how they see and feel the color green and we invite you to examine your perspective at the show in August too.
