at Brick Aux628 Metropolitan
$30-75 sliding scale

Improvisation has been and continues to be one the most creatively nourishing and generative practices of my life. And yet, to be totally honest, one of the biggest bummers of the practice is how siloed improvisation is from those who have creative goals outside of “being good at improv.” This class is an opportunity for theater makers, actors, writers, artists, and comedians to develop improvisation technique in a way that aligns with their current creative goals and projects. Come ready to play, listen, share, and develop.

Tim Platt is a comedian, musician, writer, and actor in Brooklyn, NY who has been seen on The Late Show with Stephen ColbertThe Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and Masterclass with Steve Martin. His stand up is a mix of characters, jokes, puppetry, and music. In 2019 he was selected as one of Comedy Central’s Up Next Variety Comedians at Clusterfest as well a Kickstarter 2019 Creator-In-Residence. He is a castmember of the award winning Actual Play podcast Rude Tales of Magic as well as the host of the comedy interview podcast The Hampton High Archives. His writing and art has been featured on Point In Case, Gawker, and Bedford+Bowery. He’s done a bunch of other stuff that he’s really proud of but would never be mentioned in something like this.
