A NOTE FROM OUR FRIEND, ACTOR & PLAYWRIGHT DAVID GREENSPAN:

Dear fellow friends of The Brick,

It was March of 2022 when I was first happily swept into The Brick community, performing a solo evening of Gertrude Stein and previewing part of my upcoming solo The Patsy at The Brick Theater. In January of 2023, I performed Joey Merlo’s solo play On Set With Theda Bara as part of The Brick’s Exponential Festival. It was an amazingly energized and energizing experience; so much so that we were able to bring back the play for an extended run in 2024.

It’s thrilling to be part of such a hot and hopping place – and heartening to be associated with a theater so thoroughly committed to supporting new and innovative work. If you haven’t had an opportunity to see a show at The Brick you certainly should – and I encourage you to drop into Brick Aux up the street for art exhibitions, readings, parties, and other art-related events.

As we head towards 2025, I’m confident The Brick will continue to grow its mission as a home for original, intelligent, adventurous, bold, and sometimes brazenly outrageous work.

And I’m looking forward to returning as a performer in Fall 2025 in Jerry Lieblich’s solo play without mirrors – and as an audience member and supporter during the upcoming Spring 2025 season. If you have been to this theater – or been involved as an artist or collaborator – you know how exciting it is here on Metropolitan Avenue.

Please take this opportunity to support The Brick’s end of year fundraising efforts. With your help the future here looks really good.

Any (any!) donation will help keep the stage lights on and the stage lit up by exciting theater artists.

Sincerely,

David Greenspan
Actor & playwright
