Unhook from reality and fall into Body Mess, a world that’s part nightmare, part cushy fever dream, and 100% messy. Ever feel like your body isn’t attached to your head? Are you massively overdue for an exorcism? Alyse Dreamhouse and Amanda Xeller will be your conjurors for the evening as they stretch & plunge your psyche into fresh new realms. Featuring unmoored characters, remixed horror, and live music – you’ll walk away slightly bewildered but lighter & brighter than before.
Alyse Lamb is a musician, sound designer and performance artist based in Brooklyn, NY. She is the singer/guitarist of the experimental duo Parlor Walls and co-creator of the video art collective Famous Swords. Alyse’s solo work under the moniker Alyse Dreamhouse spans various musical genres and media. Often featuring slow-roasted snares, vintage samples and pitched vocals, Alyse describes it as “technicolor trash pop”. Alyse has closely collaborated with a variety of experimental musicians and institutions over the years including Martin Bisi, Aldo Tambellini, House of Feelings, Title:Point, and The Brick Theater.
Amanda Xeller is a character comedian, sketch writer, and director residing in Brooklyn. Her characters tend to lean very messy – both figuratively and literally. She has been featured across the United States, Canada, and as a part of several Sketch Festivals including San Francisco (Jan 2025), Toronto (Mar 2025), and Montreal where she won the coveted Best of the Fest award (May 2025). She also won the Lifetime Achievement Award at Montreal Sketchfest ’22. Amanda teaches Character Comedy classes. She also produces Character Night, which is regarded as one of the best character showcases in NYC, and the Moxie Sketch Lab for Women, Trans, and Non-Binary comedians. She graduated from the Terry Knickerbocker Studio Acting Conservatory in May 2024, has studied comedy at the Magnet Theater, Annoyance NY, & Upright Citizens Brigade and clowning at Movement Theater, Barrow Group, and with Complicité in London, England. She’s originally from Houston, Texas. She’s a runner, a drummer, and lover of horror movies.

A Note on Accessibility: The Brick Theater is conveniently located off the Lorimer stop on the L train. That stop has an elevator from the street to the platform. Our theater has a driveway leading up to the door, which means you can access it directly from the street without having to go over a curb. Our front door is ADA compliant. There is a small ramp with an ADA compliant grade that leads up to the box office window and further on to the house. We are happy to reserve accessible seats for folks who need them. If you’d like to do so, or if you would like to ask further questions in advance of being in the space, or if you would like to enter in advance of our house opening (due to our seating not being assigned), please email: cameron@bricktheater. com.
