Cher Ami was a heroic carrier pigeon for the US Army Corps in France during World War I who flew over 20 miles in under half an hour delivering a message to allied troops detailing the location of almost 200 wayward soldiers. Homing, created by the interdisciplinary artists Heather Rose Piper, is a multimedia puppetry play employing a poetic retelling of this epic flight, and explores the relationship between home and displacement, intuition, resiliency, and how faith and hope shape the human experience.

Light Potion, a dreamy short film created by the artist Jacob Graham in conjunction with Avemarie Magdalena depicts a reclusive priestess’s carefully crafted creative process. Each element of this short film is imbued with an ancient magic emblematic of the artist’s work and transports the audience into an ethereal realm through light and sound.

A Note on Accessibility: The Brick Theater is conveniently located off the Lorimer stop on the L train. That stop has an elevator from the street to the platform. Our theater has a driveway leading up to the door, which means you can access it directly from the street without having to go over a curb. Our front door is ADA compliant. There is a small ramp with an ADA compliant grade that leads up to the box office window and further on to the house. We are happy to reserve accessible seats for folks who need them. If you’d like to do so, or if you would like to ask further questions in advance of being in the space, or if you would like to enter in advance of our house opening (due to our seating not being assigned), please email: cameron@bricktheater.com.
Questions about Content? Posted just to the right of the box office at the Brick box, we have a detailed content warning sheet for each production. You can check this list if you so choose.
