Street Performer, Theatre Maker, Writer and native Londoner Nick Cassenbaum is here for one night only. He will be presenting sections from some of his works, workshopped through a new lens with NY collaborators Zoë Geltman, William Sydney, Sophie Zucker, and Peter Mills Weiss. After the presentation, he will lead a discussion.
A little more about Nick: From solo shows, plays and pantomimes, Nick strives to make work that is funny, political, silly and accessible. That does not allow an audience to sit and relax but has them on the edge of their seat. Work that seeks to build a whole world through storytelling, collaboration and humour. He makes Jewish work which is simultaneously unforgivingly Jewish and undeniably British. It is work that Jewish audiences can claim as theirs whilst bringing in and making non Jewish people feel welcome and maybe even a bit Jewish.

This event is presented in partnership with The Neighborhood: An Urban Center for Jewish Life, which is working to build a community and cultural center in North/Central Brooklyn. The showing is part of the Peleh Residency, one of the few specifically family-friendly residencies based in Berkeley and Brooklyn, supporting artists in pursuit of their craft while continuing to be parents and caregivers.
